In May, STUG released Chocky’s ‘Thinking Cat’, together with a remix by the fast-rising R.O.S.H. For the latest, STUG serves up another package, featuring three originals Bart van Rijn and two remixes, one from the ever-fascinating Lady Blacktronika, and another from Berlin favourite Oliver Deutschmann.

007 kicks off via the groaning strands of ‘Aux 10’, a dreamy, tech-heavy workout that’s sure to conjure up feelings of hedonistic dancefloor bliss. ‘Aux 20’ opts for a wilder heavy approach, with its pounding kicks and floating, mysterious outlook another track of impressive distinction.

As she does best, Lady Blacktronika then pairs things down a notch courtesy of her ‘Ambient Dish’ interpretation of ‘Aux 20’. Though far removed from the original, this too is a notable effort, with its gliding piano keys and woodpecker percussion boasting all the hallmarks of a classic Blacktronika cut. Deutschmann’s scarier-than-a-Monday-morning remix of ‘Aux 10’ is full of frantic, banging, cutthroat techno vibes, the type of weapon that’s best unleashed when the night is at its wildest point.

Elsewhere, the release is rounded up by a bonus track, ‘Aux 30’. A sun-drenched, introspective gem that allows further light to enter the fray, rounding off a highly discerning release with a panache and swagger that’s notable throughout.

Release date: November 1st, 2019.
