Swindon’s finest, CHANEY continues his rise to the top by joining forces with acclaimed three-piece The Manor on the sizzling ‘Find Your Love’, released on Skint Records on 15 May.
Full of groove and inspired by CHANEY’s debut appearance in Ibiza last summer, the deep and vibrant ‘Find Your Love’ features plenty of “island magic”, with John from The Manor’s captivating vocal giving it a firm UK urban stamp, whilst showcasing the heart-felt strings and stirring piano chords.
On collaborating with The Manor, CHANEY said: “After building up the drums and percussive elements, I suddenly felt a club orientated groove turning into a proper song arrangement. There was an element missing which would bring the record closer to home and put a UK stamp on it. That’s when I sent it over to John (from The Manor) – without even thinking about it. I’d been working a lot around that time with The Manor and they loved the tune just as much as I loved working with them, so John sent me a WhatsApp voice note 5 minutes later with his entire part”.
John from The Manor said: “When I got sent the demo I immediately caught a vibe for it and understood exactly where CHANEY was trying to take it. I played the instrumental version through and recorded the voice note in one take. I sent it all back within the hour and CHANEY was as gassed as I was. We definitely were on the same wavelength but it was still the most organic and seamless collaboration I’ve ever done!“
CHANEY’s previous releases, ‘What U Need’ and ‘Little Bit More’ (backed by an Elliot Adamson remix), received heavy BBC Radio 1 airplay, including from Annie Mac (“One of our favourites at the moment… it’s so fun!”) who also personally invited CHANEY to deliver a Mini Mix for her Friday night show. Other DJ supporters included Denis Sulta, Patrick Topping, Danny Howard, Tom Trago, The Black Madonna, Friend Within, Blond:ish, Auntie Flo, Detlef, Theo Kottis, Jacky, and James Curd.
