A mass of grasses shifts in the portal before you, their blades sweeping softly upon one another according to the whims of the gentle wind that blows within. Its gusts further ruffle the leaves upon a single tree, clinging to life on the nameless plain that flickers in the vision that you see. Interwoven between this foliage is an undulating mass with no apparent terminus, the musculature of a great beast that slumbers amidst this gentle grass.
Though you see neither its feathered head nor hear inside your mind its whispered call, a feeling of certainty rises within you. This is the body of the VISION SERPENT, coiled and at rest within its planar home. Why, you wonder, has it summoned you here? What knowledge of its native land could it not know? What therein could it desire that you seek? The vision before you is irresistible in its promise of knowledge about a creature that hoards that self-same resource, though there is no telling what fate might await you who should choose to step through.
