Cogan unveils‘Power Source EP’ for Friendsome Records’ 5th Anniversary
Cogan, a stalwart of the Parisian collective House Of Underground, expands his musical horizons as he integrates with the Friendsome collective and label. This union culminates in the release of ‘Power Source’, a departure from his established high-energy house style to an enthralling exploration of Acid Techno, imbued with 90’s rave influences.
‘Power Source’ is an outcome of Cogan’s dedicated year-long work on his live performance. The EP showcases four tracks, crafted using a meticulously curated array of equipment including MPC, Prophet Rev2, Tb-03, Korg Monologue, Sh 01-A, and Quasimidi Rave-o-lution 309. Renowned for his proficiency in house music, Cogan ventures into uncharted territory, delivering a collection of uptempo tracks designed to invigorate dancefloors and captivate audiences.
The EP’s official unveiling is set for September 9th, 2023, hosted at the esteemed Badaboum venue in Paris, coinciding with Friendsome’s 5th anniversary. The EP commences with the evocative opener, ‘For The Hackers’, paving the way for the exhilarating anthem, ‘For The Racers’. Tracks 2 and 3, titled ‘For The Gamblers’ and ‘For The Farmers’, present unique encounters that coalesce, forming an auditory expedition with a lasting impact.
Cogan explains, “This EP evolved from the preparation of my live performance, yielding four distinctive tracks. A techno foundation infused with acid nuances, sculpted using MPC, Prophet Rev2, Tb-03, Korg Monologue, Sh 01-A, and Quasimidi Rave-o-lution 309. Departing from my recognizable house style, I aimed to present a facet of my musicality through these energetic compositions. My signature rhythmic dynamism and vivacious tones remain intact.”
