Dan Sushi steps into the spotlight with a captivating solo debut on KATERMUKKE: “Black Zone”
Dan Sushi, one half of the Swiss duo Fat Sushi, boasts a distinguished career in the music industry, having released music on esteemed labels. With nearly two decades of individual experience, the producers merged their talents in 2013 to form Fat Sushi. Their collective vision blends diverse musical styles, melding heavy basslines, uplifting melodies, and carefully curated vocals across the deep house and techno spectrum.
Last year, Dan Sushi embarked on a solo side project, releasing two EPs under his own name. Now, he unveils his third EP under his new alias. Following multiple successful releases by Fat Sushi on KATERMUKKE, “Black Zone” marks Dan Sushi’s debut on the label as a solo artist.
The title track, “Black Zone,” showcases commanding dark synths intertwined with a driving bassline that propels the track forward. As the song progresses, a lead melody emerges, infusing the dark tones with a euphoric essence. During the bridge, the spotlight shifts to the expansive lead before reverting to the compelling blend of dark synths and rolling bass in the final drop.
In “Ram Core,” the bassline and drums take center stage. A captivating growling bassline evolves throughout the track, complemented by groovy percussion that guarantees to set the dance floor alight. A synth lead adds a melodic flourish, enhancing the rhythmic allure of this musical gem.
