Dance Spirit Unveil “Ceremony,” the Next Chapter of Lunatic
The Los Angeles electronic duo share the second single from their forthcoming sophomore album, arriving September 25 via their independent imprint, Koukan.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Following the release of their comeback single “Tranquilized & Hypnotized,” Los Angeles electronic duo Dance Spirit return with “Ceremony,” the second single from their forthcoming sophomore album, Lunatic, arriving August 28 via their independent imprint, Koukan.
Where “Tranquilized & Hypnotized” invited listeners into the emotional heart of Lunatic, “Ceremony” ignites the album’s dance floor narrative. Built around ritualistic percussion, hypnotic grooves, and soaring melodic textures, the track occupies a space somewhere between melodic techno and progressive house while remaining unmistakably Dance Spirit.
Serving as the album’s opening dance floor statement, “Ceremony” marks the moment where Lunatic transitions from introspection to collective movement, inviting listeners from reflection onto the dance floor.
“I think ‘Ceremony’ moves the story of the Lunatic album forward by finally hitting a pace in the journey where the dance floor is activated,” says Christopher Mohn. “It seemed like the right follow-up after the downtempo atmosphere of ‘Tranquilized & Hypnotized. As experimental as we can get with our creativity and musicianship, at the heart of what we do are grooves and rhythms for the dance floor.”
“Ceremony” arrives as a three-track release, expanding the single into a broader exploration of Lunatic’s sonic universe. Under his solo alias King Freak, Christopher Mohn delivers the Beauty Dub, reimagining “Ceremony” through stripped-back grooves, reworked percussion and expansive sound design that pushes the original further into deep, hypnotic territory.
The package concludes with “Dream A Better Way (Dancing Through The Void Mix),” an exclusive reinterpretation by Robotek Reagan that offers listeners an additional preview of Lunatic. Reimagined harmonies, fresh vocal elements, and driving peak-time energy transform another album composition into a euphoric, emotionally charged dance floor moment.
“I see parties as a kind of ceremony, where we come together to celebrate life, dance to the voice of the universe, and connect more deeply with ourselves and each other,” he says. “‘Ceremony’ captures the experience we’re trying to create on the dance floor: transcendent awareness and connection. There’s no better way to celebrate our return after six years than with this song.”
Scheduled for release on September 25, Lunatic is an eleven-track multimedia album accompanied by original visual works for every composition. Originally completed before the pandemic and finally arriving this September, Lunatic has evolved into a testament to artistic independence, creative resilience and Dance Spirit’s commitment to immersive storytelling.
Released through the duo’s own imprint, Koukan, named after the Japanese word for sympathetic resonance, Lunatic marks the beginning of a new chapter built on complete creative freedom. “Ceremony” arrives worldwide on August 28, with Lunatic following on September 25 across all major streaming platforms.
Release date: August 28th, 2026.
