After Fabian Bussmann’s debut with ’Deeper Trance’ on the Traumsequenz 03 sampler, Traumraum proudly presents the Cologne-based producer’s first full EP on the label. Lack of sleep is a constant in Fabian’s life. Between working night shifts at a logistics company, studying, and managing family life, making time for music production is a challenge for the perpetually sleep deprived artist. Eventually he gave up producing music – but at some point, Fabian realized he was miserable without it. He had to make changes, even if that meant he had to sacrifice more sleep. In order to get things done quicker, Fabian re-wired his studio in a way that allowed him to just jam and record everything on the fly. His new tracks are all edited from hardware-based live sessions recorded after coming home from work at 4 or 5 in the morning. Jamming on the machines late at night often puts Fabian in a trance-like state – explaining track titles like ’Deeper Trance’, ’Hypno’, or ’The Night’. All cuts maintain the raw analog sound and live character of the original sessions; not every note is precisely tuned in place. The perfectly imperfect 3-tracker gets a proper remix treatment on top: Cologne staple Mathias Schaffhäuser reduces ’Hypno’ to a clicking minimal voyage, while Hamburg’s classic the Fist-Duo turn the title track into a banging techno stomper. ’Hypno’ will be released in November 2019, complete with mastering by Salz Mastering and a beautiful cover design by MAZi.
