A year and a half after its last release, Word Up Records is back with some brilliantly curious new dancefloor dynamite from playful duo Kill This Kant.

Word Up label boss Guillaume Atlan is best known for his chart-topping and club-ready alter ego Supermen Lovers, a Parisian original who takes his own style of disco and more around the globe, to great acclaim. Here he joins forces with Ukrainian producer Dmytro Vasylets for a brand new project under the banner of Kill This Kant. These are two producers who look different, speak different languages and live thousands of miles apart, but in the studio they come together as one with a sound that is truly distinctive and instantly compelling.

Opener ‘Angels & Heaven’ is a gorgeous deep house groove with a warped bassline down low and glowing harps rippling up top. It makes for a soothing and seductive listen indeed.

The excellent ‘Bitchy Kitten’ has lazy, long-legged drums and pinging bass making for a slow and sexy groove that draws you in. A steamy synth line then brings cheekiness and playfulness as the track unfolds and grows more involved and intense.

Last of all, ‘Medusa Rave’ is a kinetic and prickly groove with finger clicks, smeared bass, shakers, hits and more all making you move. As it continually shapeshifts from start to finish, lush keys and a whistling flute lead all get you under their spell.

This is innovative and off-kilter electronic music with a real sense of cheeky erotic charm running through it all.

Release date: March 6th, 2020.
