Latteo returns to Marginalia with his usual collaborator D’aria, and while the EP brings back familiar names like Sinca, it also welcomes someone new to the label.

Two years on from “Easy To Please” in August 2024, the Sicilian-born, Bologna-based producer is back with “The Effect,” another collaboration with the Berlin-based singer and songwriter whose voice has shaped some of his most defining work since 2020.

Latteo’s path to electronic music ran through a pharmaceutical degree in Siena, surrounded by Renaissance art, before synthesizers took over. What he and D’aria make together has always sat somewhere between deeply romantic and unmistakably electronic, sound architectures built to speak directly to emotion.

The EP’s B-side, “Say Nothing,” leans into a different vocal register than what longtime listeners might expect from Latteo, while staying close to the ambient textures, organic pulsations, and industrial rhythm that define his sound.

On remix duties this time, Sinca returns to Marginalia after collaborating with ELIF on “Tal” and playing the label’s ADE showcase. The French-Canadian, Peruvian producer, mentored by John Digweed and known for releases on Bedrock, Anjunadeep and Purified, brings her own emotionally driven, groove-led touch to “The Effect.”

Mimikri, the downtempo alias of Berlin’s Flave, marks Marginalia’s first ever foray into downtempo. A different register entirely, his interpretation strips “The Effect” down into something slower and more spacious, proving the song works in directions nobody would have expected from the original.

The Effect EP is out July 15th on Marginalia.

Release date: July 15th, 2026.
