Better know to family and friends as Mattia Borriello, M.I.T.A. started out a decade ago with his first release signed to the legendary Sasha Carrassi’s Phobiq. Now signed to Suara, Elevate and others after collaborations with The Advent (featured in Mixmag) and amassing an army of high profile fans including Paco Osuna, Pig & Dan and Maja Jane Coles.
He is making his debut this Spring on EI8HT for the labels 7th release since its inception in 2019. Opening with title track ‘The Treatment’, an energetic roller full of scattergun alarms, skippy percussion and a stadium shaking low end. Next, there’s ‘Stum Street’. Rotund kicks shape the lows as crisp percussive layers occupy the higher frequencies. The enormous stab that hits in the drop drives this track into the stratosphere. Thirdly, the driving percussion of ‘Multiplex’ drives this one into Jeff Mills territory. Clattering percs and skippy hats give the good feels. Finally, overdriven kicks, repeated vocals in mute and rolling bass combine on ‘Possibilities’ to create a gargantuan groove for the peak times.
