MAFU Releases “PARA” EP on Samovar — Hypnotic Minimal Techno with a Thai Undercurrent. On November 28, Samovar presents the “PARA” EP, a new three-track release from electronic artist MAFU, co-founder of the No More Snow project and a prominent figure within Thailand’s contemporary club landscape.
Over the past few years, MAFU has become an integral part of the scenes in Phangan and Phuket, performing at Illusion, Shelter, Lost Paradise, Cult Phangan, Allpha Bar Phangan, and the Dramcode 2023 festival.
Now based in Thailand and serving as director of The Commune bar, MAFU continues not only to perform and produce but also to help cultivate the region’s electronic music culture from within. Over the past two years, he has tested a range of material on the dancefloor, releasing 17 tracks in an experimental mode. With “PARA,” he shifts into a more focused and refined sonic phase.
The “PARA” EP dives into hypnotic minimal techno. Built on a spiraling rhythmic core, the release draws the listener in gradually, avoiding excess ornamentation in favor of tension, depth, and subtle textural movement. It’s night-time music — immersive, concentrated, and designed to guide the listener into a meditative, trance-like state through repetition and precision.
Each of the EP’s three tracks explores the same idea from a different angle, maintaining a unified narrative and club-driven energy. “PARA” marks MAFU’s debut on Samovar and signals a new chapter in his production identity.
