Born and raised in Istanbul, Nurzat’s musical journey began long before his first release. As a child, he immersed himself in rhythm, first behind a drum kit, exploring the dynamics of jazz, rock, and alternative grooves. This early connection to percussion laid the foundation for a unique sense of timing and groove that would later define his sound as an electronic music producer.
His teenage years took him through different cities, where he was exposed to diverse underground scenes. Alongside the pulse of local nightlife, he discovered the hypnotic pull of minimal and deep electronic sounds—genres that resonated with the same emotional depth he found in the works of artists far beyond the dancefloor, such as Nicolas Jaar or Portishead. These influences, while spanning different sonic worlds, shared an intimacy and storytelling quality that would become central to his own music.
Eventually, Nurzat settled in Barcelona, a city whose vibrant underground scene became the perfect home for his evolving artistry. Here, he refined his production style into deep, hypnotic grooves layered with atmospheric textures and percussive fluidity—bridging the gap between body-moving rhythms and emotive soundscapes.
Over the years, his tracks have been supported by a variety of artists and platforms, from international names like Richie Hawtin, Blond:ish, Ilario Alicante, Gene Farris, and Argia, to respected curators such as Mixmag’s Bruce Tantum and many electronic music hubs. His work has also found a place on niche radio stations and underground selectors’ playlists around the globe—proof of a growing network built on authenticity rather than hype.
With his latest release “Sentir”, Nurzat channels the full spectrum of his musical journey—from the organic pulse of live percussion to the immersive atmospheres of deep, late-night dancefloors. It’s not just a track, but a statement of intent: to create music that lingers in both memory and movement.
