Born into a culture of vinyl, raised on the spirit of selection, moved by melody and dynamic range; north east UK artist Sahar was literally brought up in a record store and from a very early age he understood that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Diligently honing his craft for years before he pushed himself out into the universe with his first releases in 2019, he’s now soaring with a sound that belies his tenure, support from the very top of the DJ tree and major league releases on the likes of NEIN, Paradiso, Me Me Me… Now Isolate.
Making his debut on the label with a generous quartet of explorations – including some with his own vocals – ‘Different Days’ showcases Sahar’s broadest range and deepest cosmic scope. Opening with the Northern Exposure style broken beats and gentle cascades of ‘International Voyage’, closing with the gentle ebbs and flows of ‘Envision’, complete with the reflective, introspective techno of ‘Different Days’ and the darker sinewy acid of ‘Egomania’, the whole EP works as a cohesive trip that guides us through these strange transitional days where not all of us are on the same page any more. If anything can unite us, it’s music like this. The type of music Isolate exists for.
