It’s progressive, it’s melodic, it’s techno – it is the next Jannowitz Records release with a very special producer who we have fallen in love with over the last few months. We’re talking about Spanish producer SILES who debuted on Jannowitz Records on a split EP with Raul Racio back in 2019. For us SILES put together ‘007’ EP, named after action movie legend James Bond.
Again, we collaborated with tattoo artist Paul Talbot, who created the perfectly corresponding cover artwork fort he EP. It matches the vibe that runs along the beats of the title track.‘007’ is pure gangster techno. Dark vocals, driving percussions paired with spacey pads. Just what we love.
The second track ‘Upward’ is more groovy and melodic. The other side of SILES that he also likes to highlight. It’s still heavy and techy but with a twist that makes you shake your hips. For fans of deeper techno music, Polish producer duo DUSS remixed ‘007’ into what we call the hypnotic dancefloor filler. It’s DUSS‘s first appearance on Jannowitz Records but probably not their last.
The second remix on this EP is brought to you by no one else than Nico Cabeza. The Italian has been a friend oft he label for quite some time now and has contributed an outstanding set to the Jannopod podcast series in the past. Now he finally gets to release on Jannowitz Records. And what a debut it is! His ‘Upward (RAVE Remix)’ is a total banger. It’s highly energetic and even harder than the rest of this EP.
