Sum Over Histories release Part 3 of their Path Integral IV EP series with tracks from Invōker and Skatman. The latest EP continues the series’ exploration of the versatility of dance music and its ability to transport and transform.
With Desert Beam, Skatman AKA Aziz Haddad contributes a slow and steady melodic house track straight out of the desert and into our souls. The Tunisian-born, Berlin-based producer begins with a slow beat and builds urgency with tight strings, light drums, low keys, clapping snares, and scattered percussion. The result is near-hypnotic; an ode to North Africa that’s rooted in the dark techno sound of Berlin.
Haddad’s music aims to encapsulate that fine line between chaos and control, an essence he champions and pioneers with his melodic house and techno productions, often released on his label Skatcity.
With their latest release, Sum Over Histories once again celebrates the ever-evolving versatility of melodic house and techno. The aim of the label, launched by Frankey & Sandrino, is to promote thought-provoking and intelligent dance music from producers and artists around the world, all woven together through ethereal and transportive music.
Frankey says: “Both Invōker and Skatman’s releases explore what’s next for dance music, and tread a fine line between darkness and light. Both artists are true pioneers of melodic house and techno, and work tirelessly to push the genre forward”.
Sandrino says: “This EP will whisk the listener away to another realm. Invōker and Skatman produce strong, optimistic imagery, connecting the listener with their own personal histories and creating uplifting and thoughtful tracks. Their work makes a welcome escape from a challenging year”.
About Sum Over Histories
Sum Over Histories is a label for the conscious listener – ‘contemporary electronic music made for closed-eyed dancers.’ With releases from Invōker, Lazaros and Denis Horvat, the label creates space for multi instrumentalists and producers to explore their inner selves, creating introverted narratives that encourage profound listening for our minds, not just beats and rhythms for our bodies.
