For house music producer SWAYLÓ, connecting to different people and cultures is a fundamental motivation of working in dance music. Having grown up on the Zuni Pueblo and later the Navajo reservation, and with South African and Swiss heritage, he’s cultivated an artistic ethos that he coins Global Sound – a style defined by a dynamic blend of electronic music genres, organic textures, and tribal influences designed to bridge gaps between people.
SWAYLÓ’s diverse creative approach has led the artist to performances at festivals such as Electric Forest, EDC Mexico, Envision, and Lightning In A Bottle, and support slots for world-class acts such as ZHU, Diplo, BLOND:ISH, Noizu, Matroda, Cloonee, Nora En Pure, Jamie Jones, HoneyLuv, Destructo, and many more.
He also weaves his dance music philosophies through his work as a label head and event promoter – two roles that allow him to cultivate community around his unique branding. With the newly launched imprint/event series Ancient Future Present, SWAYLÓ is building a music culture that encourages artists to incorporate their experiences and unique characteristics into true expressions from the heart.
Additionally, as the former talent buyer at C3 Presents, then Meow Wolf, and current Entertainment Director at Las Vegas’ renowned AREA15 event space, SWAYLÓ has become an expert at applying his artistic vision into dynamic curation and concert production and promotion.
Last month, SWAYLÓ released ‘GLOBAL ACID JACK,’ a transportive acid house track that blends tribal instrumentation with analog synths and an infectious, modern club beat – a sonic journey through time and space.
Today, SWAYLÓ unveils ‘PSYCHEDELIC GIRLS’ – a similarly expansive listening experience that highlights the virtues of psychedelics through bouncy, kaleidoscopic soundscapes. Loaded up with underground, tech house grooves, conga samples, and infectious synth lines, the track is a cacophony of lush sound design and warehouse atmospheres – a combination that acutely reflects the song’s mind-altering themes.
‘PSYCHEDELIC GIRLS’ kicks off with a thumping four-on-the-floor kick drum and the song’s central vocal sample, slowly building as the song’s main elements are EQ’d into focus with added percussion, risers, and chopped-up vocals. The track then explodes into its incendiary drop, a fiery, swirling section of sizzling hi-hats, hypnotizing synth melodies, and deep, trunk-rattling bass.
