Tromino’s momentum keeps on building and now after a big first release on his own new label comes a second that is just as powerful.
This lifelong music lover built up a fine reputation with early productions fusing his love of Detroit, Chicago and acid with plenty of vocals and robust beats. His full flavour style is designed to make a big impact in the club whilst also maintaining a real sense of heart, and to date the likes of John Digweed, Darren Emerson and Sam Divine have been big supporters.
This latest missive opens up with ‘Freedom’, a superbly deep but driving and dynamic track on the divide between house and techno. There is real soul in the synths and the crashing hits add the sort of rawness and energy that makes the track really standout.
Next is ‘Sliver Lines’, which has a more dubby feeling and rolling drums that keep on pulling you in. Razor sharp hits add bite, while rippling chords disappear off to the horizon. Tense but hypnotic, it’s another high grade musical weapon.
With these essential cuts, Tromino continues to build his own vital sound and label.
