wAFF returns to Ilario Alicante’s Sound D’Elite imprint with his ‘Lemon Juice’ EP, following his 2024 remix of VLTRA (IT)’s ‘Desire’. Across three bold, pulsating cuts, the UK mainstay offers yet another slice of his unmistakable cutting-edge sound, reminding us why he continues to sit at the very top of his game.
The title track, ‘Lemon Juice’, is a brilliantly glitched-up jam, featuring rumbling low-ends and clipped vocal swirls that ramp up the energy. ‘Punch Shot’ picks up the pace, marked by a deep, driving rhythm and pulsing synths that inject texture to slamming drums, straddling the house and techno divide. Rounding up the EP, ‘Flashing Lights’ blends dark, moody grooves with hypnotic rhythms, elevated by sultry female tones that glide effortlessly through the mix.
This new release finds the NATURE label boss at the peak of his powers. From his early days igniting Hull and Leeds’s underground scenes to headlining the world’s biggest clubs and festivals such as DC-10, Amnesia, Club Space, Glastonbury, and Burning Man, wAFF’s journey has been nothing short of meteoric.
