Berlin-based producer Simina Grigoriu returns with ‘Ascended Masters’, a two-track EP out now via OFF Recordings. The digital release follows a string of positive releases on Drumcode Ltd., Terminal M, Phuture Wax, and her own Kuukou Records.
Building on the momentum of September’s ‘Precision’ EP, this new outing further cements Simina’s longstanding relationship with OFF Recordings, where she first appeared in 2020 with ‘Sandbox Wars’. Known for her meticulous sound design and instinctive sense of movement, the Romanian-born artist once again delivers a refined, floor-focused package.
The title track ‘Ascended Masters’ opens with a thunderous bassline and tight rhythmic drive. A commanding breakdown gives way to coiled, evolving samples and flickering spectral elements that lend the track a ritualistic atmosphere while keeping the energy in motion.
On the flip, ‘Inner Alchemy’ explores a darker, introspective space. Restrained low-end pressure, crisp percussion, and a brooding melodic core build toward a gravity-defying breakdown before plunging into a sweeping, peak-time groove engineered for emotional and rhythmic transformation.
