Scottish techno pioneers and Soma Records co-founders Slam return to the dance floor with their new album ‘Dark Channel’. Their first LP in seven years, ‘Dark Channel’ is a raw, club-focused tribute to the dance floor and the power of music in times of disarray.
Created in three weeks using their live setup, ‘Dark Channel’ delivers raw dance floor energy. Unlike their previous experimental works, the album focuses on pure club power, from the tribal ‘Use It, Lose It’ to the discordant title track. ‘Parametric Factor’ and ‘Glide’ offer pulsing synth journeys, while ‘Morganatic’ and ‘Infinit Spaces’ explore darker territories.
The record continues with ‘Ghost Dancer’s ominous modulations, ending with ‘Beat On The Drum’ and the hypnotic ‘Irregular Object’. The lead single ‘Kulture Version’ showcases heavy bass and echoing synths.
“‘Dark Channel’ is our tribute to that sacred space: a no-holds-barred celebration of the dance floor’s enduring power to connect, liberate, and remind us of our shared humanity—even in the darkest of times,” Slam said.
