Known for his fusion of organic soundscapes, driving rhythms, and atmospheric vocal samples, his sound draws comparisons to Fred Again.., Pretty Girl, and Barry Can’t Swim, while standing firmly in its own lane.

With over 29 million streams and support from BBC Radio 1, Sonnee’s momentum continues to build. His latest track, ‘Heartfalls’ featuring Khazali, marks his Warner debut and leads into his upcoming third EP, ‘innershy’, out this spring.

Alongside his music, Sonnee also curates his own event series, SOLAA. These intimate dancefloors, often phone-free and captured on disposable cameras, have become a fixture in Manchester and London.

To celebrate the project and the upcoming SOLAA event on April 17th at Folklore Hoxton, Sonnee shares his top 10 tracks for SOLAA dancefloors.

1. KETTAMA – It Gets Better (Forever Mix)

“Recently fell in love with this one, perfect for the SOLAA dancefloors. Takes me straight back to hugging friends after a rave.”

2. EQD – EQD009D

“A darker one for when the night progresses and everyone is locked in. Love how minimal it is and the sound selection is top notch.”

3. SWIM – With U

“Obsessed with the energy playing SWIM in my sets creates and the emotions it brings up. Everytime!”

4. Christine and the Queens – Comme si (Fred Again Remix)

“Stumbled across this remix a week before the first SOLAA Manchester show and I fell in love – two icons, perfect tune to start a set with.”

5. Knucks – Los Pollos Hermanos (Peter Jolyon Remix)

“This tune is just so much fun to play out, proper summer vibes.”

6. Alicia Keys – Fallin’ (Jasper Tygner Edit)

“The original is of course a classic I feel everyone knows, Jasper killed this edit and oooooffff it goes off!”

7. The xx – On Hold (Jamie xx Remix)

“One to close sets with, a track that made me want to start producing.”

8. Mau P – The Less I Know The Better

“I remember searching for a high quality version of the bootleg like a year back and I couldn’t find one – so buzzed I’m going to be able to give it a spin at the next SOLAA show.”

9. Carlita, Andre Zimmer – Raf

“Proper dance floor filler, one of those songs that you wish you wrote!”

10. Melé – Groove La Afrika

“The perc, the vocals chop, everything about this track is perfect – and the reaction when playing it always goes down a proper treat. I love the variety of tunes I can play out at a SOLAA party, so much fun!”
