It was announced by Spain’s president Pedro Sánchez.
The Spanish government is encouraging outsiders to start planning holidays in the peninsula, alleging that ‘the country needs tourism, and tourism needs safety in both origin and destination. We will guarantee that tourists will not run any risks, nor will they bring any risk to our country’. Right now, anyone entering Spain from abroad had to undergo self-isolation for 14 days. No comment has been made on whether this will still be the case by July.
The Balearic Island President had stated that Ibiza would reopen for Spaniards from July, but this new development means clubs and venues will be able to re-open in just a few months.
Clubs and bars in Spain will be allowed to open, but only operating at 30% capacity starting on June 8th.
