Swiss DJ and producer Sparrow steps into a new chapter with the release of his debut solo single, ‘Sweet Desire’ featuring Charli. The track is now available via Tortuga Records, marking his first outing since announcing the end of Sparrow and Barbossa.
After nearly a decade shaping Afro house alongside his former collaborator, Lausanne-born Bryan Coletta now moves forward under his own vision. ‘Sweet Desire’ signals a reset, introducing a direction that places Tortuga fully under his creative lead. The single has already gained early support from artists including Rampa, Themba, and Samantha Loveridge, building momentum ahead of its official release.
Building on years of collaborative work, Sparrow describes the record as a defining moment in his evolution. “This record marks a personal shift for me. After years of collaboration and growth, it was time to fully step into my own space and trust my instincts. It sets the tone for what’s next and for the world we’re building with Tortuga.”
Featuring Charli, ‘Sweet Desire’ explores themes of self-determination and movement. As Sparrow explains, it captures a moment when “tension dissolves, movement takes over, and rhythm becomes freedom”. The production carries rhythmic and melodic elements from his past work into new territory, reflecting a natural progression in sound.
Through Tortuga Records, founded in 2022, Sparrow has developed a platform focused on cross-cultural connection and groove-driven music.
