A 5,000 square-foot venue featuring a gallery, bar, and live music.
With a focus on house, r&b, soul, and jazz, Spot Lite has opened its doors in the Islandview neighborhood in Detroit’s east side. Functioning as a record store, the 5,000 sq feet also host a bar, music venue, and a gallery.
The new venue is run by Roula David and Jesse Cory, the people behind publishing house 1xRun. ‘This place is a love letter to each other, but it’s also our combined love letter to Detroit,’ says Roula, revealing the opening date of Spot Lite coincides with the day the couple met 10 years ago.
