Spotify introduces new function to watch exclusive shows

The first round of concerts will feature performances by The Black Keys, Leon Bridges, and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man.

Spotify announced a new feature that allows artists to stream paid concerts directly via the streaming platform. Fans can purchase tickets to the concerts, which are currently priced at about $15 per show, and choose a time slot to see them.

From the press statement, it can be inferred that the programs are not really ‘live’ and are prerecorded concerts that are reproduced through the application. However, they can only be viewed once by a viewer, based on four time zones, via the web browser.

Artists participating in the worldwide launch include The Black Keys, Leon Bridges, and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, with concerts taking place during May and June. Viewers will need to have a Spotify account to purchase tickets, but a Premium subscription is not required. Tickets will not be refundable or transferable.
