Streaming platform Spotify has announced the addition of full-length DJ mixes to its catalog. Initially, the new service will be available in 8 countries, including Australia, UK, Japan, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Ireland, the Philippines, and New Zealand.
The new feature is launching with mixes by Adam Beyer, Shingo Nakamura, AmyElle, Noisia, and MOTi. Some details are still unclear, like who will be able to upload mixes to the platform, or how the monetization will be processed.
In a similar move, Apple had recently announced that their Music streaming platform will pay DJ, producers, and content providers ‘as if the track was streamed through their regular streaming service’.
