Stimming presents new hardware ‘The Instant Mastering Chain’

The device was created in partnership with DOCtron.

Acclaimed producer and performer Stimming has unveiled the first piece of hardware designed by himself, known as ‘The Instant Mastering Chain’, a piece of equipment that promises to revolutionize the live set experience for music makers.

‘When I decided to not have a computer on stage, I immediately faced the problem of mastering my signal on stage in real-time. Four years and a couple of different approaches and prototypes later, I solved this problem!’ explains Stimming about the motivation behind ‘The Instant Mastering Chain’.

Playing live sets has always been a true challenge, as most artists struggle to make everything sound loud and clear while on-stage, which is what pushed Stimming to find the best portable analog mastering tool. After none of the available options on the market were found up to desired standards, he decided to link up with DOCtron to create this unique piece of gear.

‘The Instant Mastering Chain’ is a fully analog audio processor chain in a carbon portable package weighing 1kg only. Although the device was designed with hardware-only live sets in mind, it also works wonders in-studio – especially as a powerful bus compressor.

‘It fits in our carry-on luggage and makes the signal loud enough to compete against the DJ,’ further details Stimming, ‘add some creamy lows and highs, compress it to your taste but leave the fast attacks intact, add a splash of tube warmth and then squeeze it into the transformers! Your music suddenly comes two steps closer!’.
