Web3 decentralized underground audio streaming platform Tamago has confirmed it has raised $1M in seed funding. The amount raised in this round will be used to advance its ‘mission of putting money in artist’s pockets in new and innovative ways’, according to a press release with AlexaBlockchain.
The platform allows musicians to receive payment for their streams in a transparent manner, having already issued over $20,000 in payouts between its events, both Metaverse and IRL, and its ‘Top of the Charts’ liquidity pool, which pays out on a monthly basis to artists from all over the world. Last week, Tamago integrated the NEAR wallet enabling artists and users to send and receive tips, sell tracks and other exclusive audio content on the platform
Since its launch 7 weeks ago, almost 1000 tracks have been uploaded from labels and artists including Tiga, Paul Ritch, Balance Music, Visionquest, Lee Curtis, Ryan Crosson, Lee Reynolds, Doc Martin, DJ Three, Sinca, Nikita, Mikey Lion, Desert Hearts, Mioli Records, Sony Latin Music, Jay Tripwire, MONROE, Barem, Fun Records, and many others.
In other Tamago-related news, Chicago house music icon Felix Da Housecat will be releasing a full album exclusively on Tamago in October and plans to do multiple 1 of 1 NFT drops throughout the year on the platform.
Panorama Bar resident Paramida is also set to announce that she will be uploading the entire back catalog of her Love on the Rocks label, and an exclusive NFT drop with Tamago in June.
