Only 1000 units will go up for sale.
Technics will be selling a new limited edition of their acclaimed SL-1210GAE turntables to mark the 55th anniversary of the company on next June. It is reported that only 1000 units of the all-black model will be on sale, each featuring a badge inscribed with a unique serial number. The turntables will go for £3,999 each.
As well as the slick design, the turntables come with new features, including improved insulation to minimize the effect of external vibrations and a special moving magnet cartridge. This was co-designed with Tokyo-based company Nagaoka, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
The JT-1210 cartridge feature is exclusive to the SL-1210GAE and it ‘was specifically tuned by a joint team of engineers from Technics and Nagaoka to provide high-level focus and detail’.
