Thaddeus X has presented his latest EP, ‘Nassau,’ featuring a high-profile remix from Romanian artist Mihai Popoviciu. The record centers on a disciplined approach to house music, prioritizing steady rhythms and subtle atmospheric shifts.
The project explores a sense of geographic and sonic ambiguity, referencing both urban and coastal influences. While the original compositions lean into restraint and slow-cycling loops, the package is rounded out by a club-focused reinterpretation.
The title track is characterized by its vintage textures and a focus on flow over complexity. Each element is placed with intention, using repetition to create a hypnotic effect. Popoviciu’s remix maintains this core mood but reinforces the rhythmic foundation, adapting the track for dancefloor utility with his signature precision. The artist also shared a video with Nassau’s beach inspiration.
Thaddeus X has established a reputation for deep, evocative electronic music that avoids trend-driven sounds. He is joined here by Popoviciu, a veteran of the underground scene known for his work on labels like Poker Flat and Bondage-Music.
