Somewhere along the way, listening became background noise. But music is not just content. It’s not another clip to swipe away. Music is memory. It’s presence. In an age where fake numbers can buy fake fame, the real question is simple: Are we still listening, or just keeping score?
At EG, we’ve built our home around the first answer. Listening is what drives us, whether it’s championing artists through our mixes and premieres or joining forces with those who see music as a force for good.
Earlier this year, we partnered with Listed in a project led by Acid Tourist called We Give A Jam!!! A special mix crafted with purpose, reminding us that music is not only for the dance floor but can also carry a deeper message. In October, we’ll host our third ADE Week fundraiser, this time to support UNICEF programs for children in Gaza. These initiatives remind us that when music is given direction, it becomes more than entertainment. It becomes action.
The same principles guide our label. Every release on EG Records is crafted to produce feelings and transcend time, not to feed the machine of disposable hits for deaf listeners. Music, for us, is still art.
Looking ahead, we’ll also begin selling tickets to events that we believe in. Not because we need another business line, but because aligning with promoters and gatherings that remain true to the scene is part of who we are. And it’s not just about causes or projects. Part of our team recently joined Balance Festival in Croatia, where we felt again what this culture is about: community, discovery, and a spirit that echoes in our motto, Where Music Matters. This is why EG exists: to keep a space alive for music to be heard, felt, and remembered. A space that reminds us to slow down, to listen, to care. Not everything needs to be viral. Not everything needs to be quantified. What matters is how it moves you.
Because in the true sense of art, one hundred true listeners will always mean more than one hundred thousand marketing followers.
