French producer and composer William Rezé, known under the Thylacine project, steps into the EG Podcast series with EG.1050, a session rooted in his long-standing relationship with travel and location. The mix is available now via EG’s SoundCloud and Mixcloud platforms.

Rather than working from a fixed studio, Thylacine has built his catalogue on the road, allowing geography, encounters, and circumstance to influence both composition and texture. That approach first reached a wider audience with ‘Transsiberian’, an album written and recorded while crossing Russia on the Trans-Siberian Express, a project that later translated into extensive touring across Europe and the United States.

His more recent album ‘Roads Vol. 3’ was shaped during three months of travel through Namibia, where he collaborated with local musicians and explored traditional instruments. The record does not aim to document places directly, but instead distills moments, emotions, and human connections gathered along the way, informed by Namibia’s landscapes and layered history.

EG.1050 mirrors this philosophy, unfolding as a personal and exploratory journey rather than a static club session. The mix reflects Thylacine’s ongoing dialogue between sound and movement, offering a listening experience anchored in real-world experience rather than genre boundaries.
