Trance producer Stevie B-Zet has died

A true trance pioneer of the 90s.

Trance producer Stevie B-Zet, real name Steffen Britzke, has passed away at 62. The news was confirmed on August, Wednesday 2nd, by collaborator and close friend, Ralf Hildenbeutel.

Hildenbeutel told fans: “I have no real words and it’s still a shock that Steffen, our Stevie B-Zet, has passed away last Thursday. When we met I was 17, we’ve done and experienced so much together. We played in the same band when I was still in school, than the incredible Eye Q years, the Schallbau era and lots of film scores together.”

Britzke, who was born in Frankfurt, helped pioneer the early sound of trance in the 90s, collaborating frequently with the likes of Sven Väth, with whom he formed the music project Astral Pilot. B-Zet would also go on to release several records on Sven’s Eye Q Records imprint.
