Danish electronic act Tripolism has emerged as one of the most compelling new names in the scene, blending house, disco, and techno with hypnotic vocals and infectious grooves.

Signed to Ultra Records in 2023, their breakthrough single ‘Dope Dance’ was named Essential New Tune by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, cementing their place as a rising force. Recent standout moments include a remix of ‘Lola’s Theme’ by The Shapeshifters, which dominated Beatport’s top spot for weeks, and a major US debut at Coachella.
Their latest release, ‘Flying Away With You’, sees Tripolism teaming up with fellow Danes WhoMadeWho for a warm, melodic collaboration out now via Cercle Records. Part of Cercle’s Odyssey series, the track captures a breezy fusion of indie electronica and summer energy.
In this conversation, Tripolism opens up about their creative process, live experiences, and future plans.
EG: Hi, guys! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been? Where are you right now?
Tripolism: Thanks for having us! We’re doing pretty great. A bit sleep-deprived, mildly sunburnt, and constantly trying to remember what timezone we’re in. It feels like we just landed from North America, but we’ve already passed through Aarhus, Tallinn, and Barcelona, and now we’re packing for Dubai. We’re seeing more clouds from plane windows than actual friends or family these days. It even caught us by surprise that spring had arrived in Copenhagen.
EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of ‘Flying Away With You’, your new collaborative single with WhoMadeWho! You must be stoked to have this one out for everybody to listen to. What has the initial reception been like so far? What are some of your feelings regarding the release?
Tripolism: Thanks! We really believe in this one — it’s probably our most listener-friendly release so far. We’ve gotten so much love from every corner, and we’re honestly super grateful for it. Also, being named Essential New Tune by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 didn’t hurt. We acted cool but screamed a little inside.
EG: So, how did ‘Flying Away With You’ come about? What was the creative process for this one like?
Tripolism: It started with WhoMadeWho sending us a demo — already pretty dope and full of emotion. We added a few bits: some extra vocals, some production ideas, and that usual blend of melancholy and optimism we can’t seem to shake. The whole thing came together really naturally… which is always a good sign. You don’t fight songs like that, you let them happen.
EG: Notably, ‘Flying Away With You’ features 5 voices, which is something quite rare in electronic dance music. How did you guys manage to work that in?
Tripolism: We’ve always looked up to WhoMadeWho — the OG Danish electronic trio — so yeah, it was a little intimidating. But somehow our slightly quirky boy-choir vibe blended surprisingly well with their godlike voices. And then it just… happened. Five voices, one feeling. It wasn’t planned. That’s maybe why it works.
“There’s a special kind of magic when we’re all in the same room”
EG: Speaking about ‘Flying Away With You’, you also got to share the stage at Cercle Odyssey with WhoMadeWho. How would you describe that experience at Cercle Odyssey?
Tripolism: Two minutes we’ll never forget. Even though it was a short visit, the way both the WhoMadeWho family and Cercle welcomed us was incredible. No words, just one of those moments we’ll carry with us forever.
EG: Now, digging into your relationship…what is your dynamic in the studio like? Do you have set roles by now?
Tripolism: Honestly, it’s been way too long since we were properly in the studio together. We’ve had a few scattered sessions — Bryn was recently in the studio with Ahmed Spins in LA (yes, that’s a teaser) — but now we’re seriously itching to get back into creation mode. There’s a special kind of magic when we’re all in the same room. As for roles: it’s very democratic. No one really owns anything. We listen. We throw weird stuff on the table. We argue. Then someone accidentally does something great, and we pretend it was planned all along.
EG: By the way, we’ve “heard” that you guys tend to ‘borrow’ the hotel teabags…anything else in that vein that we should know about? And, most importantly, which hotels have the best ones?
Tripolism: We’re actually pretty law-abiding when it comes to hotels. They’ve got our card on file — we behave. But it’s a fine line, you know? Slippers: yes. Towels: no. Tea? Obviously. Bathrobes? That’s a grey area. If you want tea recommendations, Nobu in Barcelona had us well cared for. And those tiny, expensive Paris hotels? Great tea, zero room. Even when it’s just Lipton, we take it. Rockstars? Maybe not. But well-hydrated? Always.
EG: Discussing a broader picture…what do you see as the biggest challenge for artists in the near future?
Tripolism: The TikTok-ification of everything. People’s attention spans — ours included — are shrinking by the minute. So what do we do? Fewer phones. More real moments. Longer sets. We’ll probably start digging into this topic more in the fall… stay tuned.
“No words, just one of those moments we’ll carry with us forever”
EG: Looking forward, what can we expect from Tripolism? Where can your fans catch you next? What are your next scheduled shows?
Tripolism: We’ve got a packed summer with tons of shows, and we’re releasing two singles we’re really excited about. First up is ‘Keep Hope Alive’ with Danish club queen Ida Corr, and then we drop ‘All Hearts Beat’ with our soul brothers from Avangart Tabldot — our first ever release on Crib Records. And let’s just say: autumn’s going to be wet. We can’t say more. Yet.
EG: Thank you so much for your time, guys! We wish you all the best in the future. Take care!
Tripolism: Thanks for the great questions — and let’s talk again soon. Preferably with tea.
