UK government implements 10 PM curfew

The measure affects bars, pubs, and restaurants.

Due to the rise of reported COVID-19 cases in the country, the UK government is tightening up on socializing and the hospitality industry. Mostly, pubs, bars, and restaurants will be affected.

Prime minister Boris Johnson informed that bars, restaurants, and pubs must remain closed from 10 PM to 5 AM every day, no exception. They will only be able to offer table service for groups of no more than six people, and attendees will wear masks at all times, except when seated.

This measure immediately impacts London’s clubs and venues that have recently re-opened, and are experimenting with different formats, and means that most of the staff working at these places will most likely lose out on a couple of hours of pay.

Today, the UK is dealing with 4,926 new coronavirus cases, the highest recorded in a single day since May. Trials of events with live audiences, planned for next month, have been put on hold.
