Artist Uma E  and producer Don Gog have teamed up to create a trip-hop version of the timeless track ‘The Sun Always Shines On TV’, original by a-ha.

Drawing inspiration from influential acts like Portishead and Massive Attack, Uma E and Don Gog skillfully blend various electronic genres in this nearly 6-minute piece, embarking on a captivating journey through a dark, ethereal, and kaleidoscopic dreamland, showcasing their creative vision.

“I had the opportunity to work on the theater play TOUCH by Falk Richter in Germany at Münchner Kammerspiele during the pandemic. At first, I performed the A-ha song, ‘The Sun Always Shines on TV,’ staying true to the original rendition. However, I soon realized that I wanted to interpret the song in a way that felt more genuine to me. This song holds a special place in my heart, as I grew up listening to it. I envisioned it as a poem – slower and more intimate,” shared Uma E.

Ulriqa Fernqvist, widely known as Uma E, has over 20 years of experience in the performing arts and is also a co-manager of the respected performing arts company Art Of Spectra.
