Vinyl album sales hit all-time high in US

An unprecedented high for vinyl since Nielsen Music/MRC Data started tracking music sales in 1991.

United States vinyl sales have reached a record-breaking high for the second time this month, according to reports published by Billboard. From December 11th through December 17th, it is estimated that 1.445 million vinyl albums were sold.

Vinyl record sales have been steadily exceeding one million sales within the last month. 1.253 million were sold during the week ending December 3rd and another 1.195 million copies were sold throughout the week ending December 10th.

The industry had hit a previous record on the week of November 27th, driven by Record Store Day’s Black Friday releases.
