Vinyl sales exceeded digital downloads in the United States

According to figures from 2017, the physical formats and the streaming sources are the favorites of the music industry.

A report published by the Association of the Recording Industry of America (RIAA) revealed that for the first time since 2011, music sales in physical format were higher than digital ones.

Although streaming took 65% of those entered in 2017, the gain for physical and digital formats exceeded US$ 8.7 billion. For its part, the sale of vinyl increased by 10%, but the downloads decreased by 25% compared to the previous year.

In total, vinyl sales in the United States generate a general income of US$ 395 million.
