2.11 million vinyl albums were sold in the last weeks of December 2021.
According to a report by MRC Data, company that has been documenting vinyl sales since 1991, 2.11 million vinyl LPs were sold during the week ending December 23rd.
This is the highest number since MRC Data started confectioning reports, surpassing the records set during the last months of 2020. It is understood that these new figures have been driven by the holidays, and the release of highly anticipated mainstream pop albums from Adele, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift.
