Rüfüs Du Sol have issued a statement following reports of a violent assault during their recent performance at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, prompting a police investigation.
The incident came to light after a woman named Shelby shared a statement via Instagram, alleging that she was knocked unconscious by a male attendee after her friend accidentally spilled a drink on him. According to her account, the man initially left the scene but later returned, physically attacking her and others in the group. “This man PUNCHED ME IN THE FACE, knocking me out and causing significant bleeding, while he continued attacking our group,” she wrote. A police report has been filed, and the suspect has yet to be identified.
Footage of the incident was also shared by Festival Owl, showing a man punching a woman repeatedly as bystanders attempted to intervene.
In response, Rüfüs Du Sol addressed the situation via Instagram stories, writing: “Delivering moments to our fans to gather and celebrate safely is what we live for. We have been heartbroken to hear of the act of violence that took place during the opening act on Saturday.”
“This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable anywhere, and the fact that this happened at one of our shows was devastating to learn about,” they continued. “Local law enforcement are actively investigating the situation.”
Police are encouraging any witnesses or individuals with information to contact the Pasadena Police Department.
