The film focus on the artist’s final years.
David Bowie’s arts and music legacy still intact two years after his passing. Now HBO has announced a documentary that follows him during the development of his two final albums, The Next Day and Blackstar, as well as his Lazarus musical stage.
The film that will be premiered on January 8th – date that would be Bowie’s 71st birthday – looks at the evolution of his music through archival footage and interviews with some of his bandmates.
‘David Bowie: The Last Five Years’ was directed by Francis Whately, who already worked with him in a previous 70-75′ documentary, and includes appearances from Tony Visconti, Ivo Van Hove, Toni Basil, Earl Slick, Gail Ann Dorsey, Gerry Leonard, Carlos Alomar, among many others.
