‘A concert of ritualistic power’.
Jeff Mills has shared a live performance at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Delos, with 2500-year-old ruins providing a mesmerizing backdrop.
‘Live at Delos Island was a dream-like experience. The geographical location, the situation, and the goal are not things that I would consider normal,’ Mills said on the show. ‘After this experience, it is hard to imagine that each of us are the same people (mentally) we were before we traveled to Delos. I’m not sure exactly what, but I have the sense that something was advanced and elevated’, he added.
Directed by Christos Sarris, the performance was aired live by the Onassis Foundation, and was entirely improvised, as Mills was joined by Indo-French tabla player Prabhu Edouard, and French keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary to form the music ensemble known as Tomorrow Comes The Harvest.
