Yotto announces first ambient album ‘Erased Dreams’

Inspired by The KLF’s 1990 album ‘Chill Out’.

Yotto has just shared the first details of his upcoming ambient and downtempo album ‘Erased Dreams’. The record will be available on July 11th, via Anjunadeep’s new sister label Reflections, which focuses on low-tempo sounds.

The 8-track ambient LP was inspired by The KLF’s 1990 album ‘Chill Out’ – a conceptual one written as a sonic journal to document the band’s road trip across America. According to Yotto himself, ‘Erased Dreams’ is also structured like a journal, and acts as “a documentation of his inner workings and sentiments during the lockdown”.

“I bought a guitar, which I had no idea how to play. I started messing around with pedals and stuff, trying to see how far I can stretch one sound, so a lot of the album comes from me trying to make endless sounds from different sources”, explains Yotto about the forthcoming LP.

In line with the announcement, the Finnish artist also shared the first taste of ‘Erased Dreams’ with the drop of its first single ‘Silhouette’.
