Experimental artist Yves Tumor was booed offstage during their opening set for Swedish House Mafia at New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The show marked a historic moment as the trio became the first electronic act to headline the Queens-based venue.
In a video statement posted to Instagram Stories, Yves Tumor responded to the crowd’s reaction, saying: “I just got booed offstage for playing the best set of the night by a bunch of the corniest people I’ve ever seen in my fucking life.” Commenting on the location, he added: “This city is truly hell on earth. I thought LA was bad. I thought Berlin was bad. I thought Paris was bad.”
A Reddit post referenced an explicit onstage remark from Tumor during his performance: “If you turn up, I’ll suck your dick – and balls. You don’t gotta like it, I’m still getting paid.”
Yves Tumor also shared screenshots of negative messages received after the show, responding to one with the caption: “Blatant racism.” In another post, they wrote: “These sub-humans are already spamming my comments. That’s how much they loved it, they had that much energy to search me. I truly love my stalkers.”
As of now, Swedish House Mafia have not issued a public comment.
