This year, the festival will delve into the influence of AI on the creative industries.
Barcelona’s Festival of Music, Innovation, and Creativity, Sónar, has announced its 2024 lineup and program for Sónar+D. With over 200 shows, DJ sets, activities, and collaborations.
The 31st edition of Sónar welcomes more than 60 new artists to the lineup, including names such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Sevdaliza, Laurent Garnier, Adriatique, VTSS, DJ Tennis, and many more. This year’s program focuses on dance music pioneers, contemporary icons, and groundbreaking techno acts.
In addition to the new additions, Sónar 2024 features previously announced artists like Air, Charlotte de Witte, Kaytranada, Jessie Ware, and Vince Staples. The festival’s combined programs, including Sónar by Day, Sónar by Night, Sónar+D, and OFFSónar, will make Barcelona a global destination for electronic music and cultural innovation.
Sónar by Night will introduce the SonarLab x Printworks stage on June 14th and 15th, bringing the essence of the renowned UK venue to Europe for the first time. This co-curated stage will showcase AV production and artistic curation.
Sónar+D, the convergence of innovation and digital culture, will explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the creative industries. With a focus on the widespread adoption of AI, the program includes the AI & Music program powered by S+T+ARTS and TIMES, the +RAIN Film Festival with a focus on audiovisual AI, and a new immersive space dedicated to Catalan Talent, powered by Direcció General d’Innovació i Cultura Digital. The festival also features the Project Area exhibition space, supported by Fundació Banco Sabadell, and artistic co-productions with leading European festivals like Unsound.
