Miami Music Week brought us the 12th edition of Crosstown Rebels’ infamous party gathering, Get Lost.
Hosted at Little River Studios, the stage was set for a day/night 24 hours event covering a wide spectrum of variations from house and techno styles.
The annual music reunion is well known for displaying one of the best lineups of the week, showcasing some of the top artists in the industry like Damian Lazarus, Guy Gerber, Francesca Lombardo, Mr C, Thugfucker, Martin Buttrich, Tiga, among others. It was great to see some new additions like Manjumasi’s Atish and live performer Be Svendsen.
During the whole musical journey, we had the opportunity to enjoy representative acts from all around the world. Starting at 5 AM, Lee Foss delivered a sharp tech and house session followed by the Boston duo Soul Clap with their hip-hop, bootleg, and American house cuts. Later on, artists like Davi, Dance Spirit and Bedouin took their chance bringing all their deep vibes to the label party.
Around 5:30 PM Bill Patrick back-to-back Seth Troxler were playing a great session. At this time the weather came to its full force so we had to shelter at the indoor areas. During the next hours, we had the chance to watch perform some familiar faces like Fur Coat, Dennis Ferrer, Deniz Kurtel and Ellen Allien. Unfortunately, we were digging to check Satori play his live set, but in this occasion, the weather was not on our side.
Once the night set in and the weather calmed down, it was time for some heavyweights to get the groove going at the outdoor stage. UK personality Oliver Jones aka Skream took the party a level up influencing attendees to connect to his break, techy and cutting-edge beats. After him, label boss Damian Lazarus took control making the evening one to remember.
During the whole event, there were plenty of great sets but these were the ones that for us stood out the most.
Crosstown Rebels boss displayed an excellent set showcasing a vibrant mix of shamanic vibes and deep house. This is probably the best set we’ve heard from Larazus in recent years, even though some say that in this past Day Zero party at Tulum, the man was at his best.
It was a solid performance by one of the top names in the industry. Guy packed a set with cutting baselines and marching kicks bringing the techno party vibe to its climax.
This back-to-back surprise set made us dance under the rain at the Santorini stage. The guys played some great tunes with lots of techy vibes, while Bill celebrated his birthday with a tasty spongy cake.
Atish’s debut a Get Lost was well received. With a progression that went from melodic house to a more progressive feel, we had tons of fun dancing inside the hottest indoor stage of the week. Atish showed his true professionalism as a DJ managing the crowd with inspiring precision. I hope they can get some proper ventilation for next year!
Skream set was definitely a party saver. After some intense weather, he brought some old school UK sounds with techno vibes, mixing it up with a few acid touches. A Depeche Mode’s ‘Revolution’ remix brought some madness into the main stage.
