Scottish DJ and producer and  Jackmaster, real name  Jack Revill, has passed away in Ibiza after some “complications arising from an accidental head injury”.

His family confirmed the news on an Instagram post,  “It’s with profound sorrow that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster. Jack tragically died in Ibiza on the morning of October 12th, following complications arising from an accidental head injury.”

“His family—Kate, Sean, and Johnny — are utterly heartbroken. While deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they navigate the immense grief of this devastating loss,” the post stated.

Born in Glasgow in 1986, Jackmaster was the co-founder of the Numbers label and a regular DJ on the international tour circuit. He started his career at local record shop Rubadub at 14, before becoming a regular at techno party Monox aged 17.

A self-confessed fan of Prince and dedicated collector of disco and funk gems and rarities, Jack was involved in collectives and labels like Dress2Sweat and Wireblock before founding Numbers. The label released material from artists such as SBTRKT, Jamie xx & Jessie Ware, SOPHIE, Denis Sulta, and more.

Jack’s sets have been an object lesson in versatility including his mix series  ‘Tweak-A-Holic’,  plus a DJ Kicks compilation, three Essential Mixes, among other relevant releases.

His busy agenda included worldwide gigs at venues such as Berghain and fabric to his three summer residencies at Circo Loco in Ibiza.

His last performance took place at  Hï Ibiza last month.
