Alberta Balsam has released her debut album ‘One Way Trip to Gaia.’ This ambitious project, available via Terra Atomika, blends electro and IDM foundations with futuristic sci-fi elements.
‘One Way Trip to Gaia’ represents the culmination of years of artistic experimentation. Building on her previous EP’s, Balsam has expanded her repertoire to include more vocal work and narrative elements. This evolution is evident in her live performances, which now showcase her own vocals alongside complex hardware setups.
Released under her newly established label, Terra Atomika, the album constructs an alternative, utopian world. By interweaving pop influences with various electronic subgenres, Balsam has created a platform to fully realize her creative vision.
The album blends diverse styles, from ethereal vocals to acid basslines and robotic voices, exploring themes of intergalactic love and humanity’s bond with nature. It presents a vision of harmony between humans and the environment.
Balsam collaborates with visual artist Timaeus on a captivating A/V show to complement the album. The live performance features striking visuals and a spaceship-like structure, reinforcing the album’s alternative world concept.
