Tel Aviv producer Adam Ten and Liverpool’s Bontan have released their new single ‘Hey’ on Insomniac Records.
Drawing from their diverse musical backgrounds, the track presents a fusion of styles. ‘Hey’ offers a sophisticated tribal house journey, blending intricate djembe rhythms and precise shaker patterns with modern production elements. The cut’s distinctive character emerges through masterful synth work and a vocal hook in West African dialect.
2024 has proven significant for Adam Ten, who earned BBC Radio 1’s ‘One to Watch’ title and delivered his first Essential Mix. He has performed at major venues worldwide, including EDC Mexico, Circoloco Ibiza, and Brooklyn Mirage.
Bontan’s star continues to rise, having been named Radio 1’s ‘Future Star’ and winning ‘Best Newcomer’ at the DJ Awards. He’s scheduled to perform at Space Miami and The Warehouse Project Manchester, with his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix premiering November 30th.
Reflecting on their collaboration, Bontan reveals, “I feel that ‘Hey’ is a perfect blend of us, with a tribal groove. I met Adam in Miami when we played Space the same night. After hearing him live, I felt like a fusion of our sounds would make something special. We connected afterward, and after a few months of sending ideas back and forth, we got there.”
