London-based producer Nilly Brook, who performs as Obscenity State, just released  ‘Zoroaster,’ a nine-track album that explores new frontiers in electronic music, now available via DistroKid.

This project showcases Brook’s ability to craft intricate sonic landscapes while maintaining an intimate emotional connection with listeners. Following her previous work ‘Gridlock,’ this album marks her artistic evolution, blending complex sound design with personal storytelling.

From the opening piece ‘Tantrika,’ which transitions from ethereal ambiance to pulsating rhythms, to the dynamic finale ‘Recall,’ each track demonstrates meticulous attention to detail. The album’s centerpiece ‘Gridlock’ anchors the collection, while ‘Over’ pays homage to club culture, ‘Quake’ delivers relentless energy, and the title track ‘Zoroaster’ captivates with its mysterious intensity.

“There’s a soulful, cinematic quality that I sought to capture with this album… I wrote it to strike an emotional chord with people,” Brook explains. “The visuals that I create for the live show draw that out further. Dance culture and music was always about more than hedonism for me—it’s about breaking down barriers.”

Brook’s artistic perspective is shaped by her diverse background—a classically trained musician whose family history intertwines with the Iranian revolution. After studying at prestigious London conservatories, she transformed her post-punk project into the venture that Obscenity State represents today.
